Insulation Protects Heat, Product and People
Insulation is often treated as a finishing trade, but it decides heat loss, process temperature stability, condensation control, noise levels and surface temperature safety.
On cold service it also decides whether the line survives. A vapour barrier that is not continuous lets moisture reach the pipe, and corrosion under insulation begins where nobody can see it.
Why It Matters
Water Gets In Where Cladding Is Careless
The insulation material rarely fails first. The cladding joint, the overlap direction, the sealing at nozzles and supports, and the finishing at terminations are where problems start.
Detailing is done so that every overlap sheds water downward and every penetration is sealed, because a system that admits water has already lost its thermal performance.
Work is progressed behind hydrotesting and reinstatement, so that insulated lines are not opened again after cladding is complete.
